Unit 4 Assignments
1. Cell Communication (Part 1)- hyperlinks are included. Complete the sheet as you go through the interactives. (*A hard copy will be provided for writing your answers). There are also Parts 2-4 (on another doc). Only do Pt 2 for now and we will finish the rest when we get to Nervous, Immune and Endocrine Systems later in the course.
*ATP vs GTP...make sure you read this.
2. Cell Cycle WQ- Mitosis and Meiosis: hyperlinks to websites are included. Here are the sheets you must complete while doing the interactives:

16-Chi square LabBench is in 'Chi square assignments' (# 14, above). Go to #2 on the doc. This is a PRE-LAB! Make sure you take notes in your lab notebook and take the quiz at the end. You MUST KNOW how to do this to do your upcoming lab. I WILL CHECK THIS BEFORE YOU START THE LAB!

LABS & PRELABS:
1- Chi square- M&M We will make time to do this one before the actual lab. You get to eat your data 😁
2- Chi square LabBench (pre-lab)- 'Genetics of Organisms'. Read directions for assignment #16, above.
3- Drosophila Lab- This is the actual lab (virtual). **THE SITE IS DOWN- FALL 2018, so hyperlink to the site won't work. I think I have a solution, though. Open this doc of your Chi square assignments. Instructions are listed in #7.
Lab groups will be assigned and this will be done in class a day or 2 before the test. (See Chi square PPt for help).
*Drosophila Lab Report: Drosophila Lab Report (this is from last year. We will discuss the lab report write up later in the week...after the Unit 4 test is over).
*Go over these at home the day before the Drosophila Lab:
2-Read THIS at home the day before the lab
3-Example of Drosophila cross with data, punnett squares and Chi square (similar to ones you will do in the lab). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to go over this at home, the day before lab
4- LOOK AT THIS SITE for how to denote genotypes with +. This is likely the way you will see it denoted on the AP Exam

Cell Communication- Ch 11
I recommend the video lectures on youtube by John Chapman. He is clear and moves at a good pace. However, there's one mistake in his G-protein video. GDP is not phosphorylated to GTP. Instead, GDP is replaced by GTP. Other than that, I think his videos are great.
*Speaking of GTP...make sure you read this.
