Links for Hess's Law from Thursday's PPt Hess's Law WS Hess's Law Extra WS The following unit will be modified for Honors in 2018: UNIT 8- States of Matter; Solutions; Acids and Bases (All PPts for this unit are posted above, under Power Points. Scroll way up. ) Due to limited time, Hon Chem 2018 did these topics from Unit 8 and they were included with Unit 7- States of Matter (did NOT do specific gas laws- only properties); Solutions; Acids and Bases (brief): SOLUTIONS:
ACIDS AND BASES: Acids and bases WS Naming Acids Review Naming Acids WS GAS STOICHIOMETRY AND REVIEW: Unit #9- States of Matter: Gases Review Sheet Gas Stoichiometry WS #1-did not do 2018 PPt with pH calculations. More appropriate for AP Chem than 1st year Chem, but the request was made. We will only do base 10 this year (first couple of slides) GAS LAWS: 2016 'Sciencegeek' online problems (link is on this slide) Gas laws WS #1 Gas Laws WS #2 Gas laws WS #3 Watch these 'Chemguy' videos for a better understanding of Gas Laws (and just about any other topic in Chemistry you need to review). Just found them 'by accident' on the KentChemistry website. Short and succinct. Thinking you all will find them helpful. :) FINAL EXAM REVIEW: 2018 Honors Chem Review: Part ONE Part TWO Video Reviews for Final Exam: 1-There are 3 videos in this series. Here is the link to one of them. 2- Another one from youtube. Didn't have time to view it, though. 3- I showed this in 2016. It's intended for AP, so it goes into a little more depth than our course, but it covers molecular geometry, resonance and periodicity really well. Final Exam Review 2016- Mag Chem: Magnet Review Sheets 2016 for Final Exam: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Here's another review sheet that I would encourage you all do. If it's completed by the due date, I will provide a hard copy of the key to check your answers. Here is a "Review Tips" sheet that I just made for you. I used the Final Exam to write this guide. |
Announcements4/20/2018:
The Mole Project is now due on Friday, 4/27. Mole Project Directions 2/10/2018: Here is information about the new Grade Repair/GradPoint program offered through the Media Center. Read the procedures carefully. I encourage you to take advantage of this program if you have a low grade on a test. 1/16/2018: EVERY student must complete this survey before 1/26: Georgia Student Health Survey. It can be done in class, but you MUST show me the page that says it was completed (or you'll have to do it again!). If you do it at home, you MUST take a picture as proof it was completed and show me the following day. I will count this as a HW grade. 1/9/2018: No school on Monday, 1/8 (inclement weather). I will be out on Tuesday, 1/9. This is due to a personal leave day that was arranged during pre-planning. ASSIGNMENTS: Go to the left column, under "Unit Assignments". Find UNIT 1, 'Scientific Method & Graphing'. Complete #2- #5 in class. You may put your answers on notebook paper, if necessary. I thought I would be able to get hard copies run off for you on Monday, but there was no school and did not get them all run off on Friday. HOMEWORK: Do #6 Tuesday night 1/4/2018: Welcome to all of my new students! I'm looking forward to a great semester. Please scroll down for info regarding joining Remind and please get the papers, that were given in class today, signed & returned tomorrow. Thanks! Other Information: Resources, Websites, Videos, etc.*For anyone who makes below a 70 on a Unit Test, here's some information on Grade Repair
This is a GREAT site for every unit & I highly recommend using it regularly throughout the course. If you're ever absent and need to get 'caught up', this site should help tremendously!
